Improvisition no. 3 for guitar and marbles (2022, 5:25)

Years ago while working on a soundtrack for a dance company I decided to tap into my youth, when I was a student of classical guitar. I recorded a variety of very short, not-so-musical harmonics, pizzicati, muted plucks and agitato strums on the vintage instrument (specifically a 1967 Hiroshi Tamura guitar). I don't recall using any of the recordings for that particular dance piece, but I added the source recordings into my sound database at that time, thinking they might someday come in handy. I forgot about them....

Two decades after I stashed them away I rediscovered them and started introducing them to some processing and synthesis networks that I was working on at the time. I made new recordings of improvisations that used these sounds. I saved those too in my sound database.

In 2022 I rummaged through those guitar-peppered improvisations that I made three years previous (pre-COVID 19). I found that some parts combined or sequenced nicely with some other improvisations, made with marbles, that I had recently been recording. So I organizing and mixed a short composition using selections from these two sets of improvisations, resulting in this "Improvisition no. 3 for guitar and marbles".
